About Me
Hello, My name is Chloe and I study Photography GCSE. I chose Photography because i wanted to become better at taking photos and because I liked the idea of seeing things more clearly and differently. Photography gives you the opportunity to try different types of photo editing and ways to take photos. I wanted to make taking pictures mean more to me than capturing an image, I wanted to make memories, that would last forever.
What Makes A Good Photograph?
For a start a good photograph needs to communicate with the viewer. The photo should be able to tell a story through the lighting, the subject its based on and the way its set out. The best way to communicate with the viewer would be to capture not only the basic image but whats behind the image, creating memories, creating something unique. The angle of the photograph matters too, because you can see the image from a different perspective, for example if you are standing on a blacony toy can take an overview picture (birds eye view) and if you are standing on the ground you can take a picture with the camera pointing up. Capturing the unexpected makes a photograph better because you are not bossing and directing people around and they won't know that you've taken the picture. You have to capture the true nature of those you are taking photos of. How should the photograph express what the photographer wishes to say, his/her meaning? A good photograph can express the photographer's intention by using emotion. By using emotion you can express how your feeling when you take a picture for example, if you are feeling happy you can take a photo of something that makes you happy and if you are sad you can take a photo of something that reminds you of something sad and if you are confused you can take a confusing photo etc. How can a good photograph communicate something words cannot? A good photograph can communicate something words cannot by capturing the moments that really matter and not just going around snapping picture of something that doesn't mean anything to you. A photograph can show different emotions or emotions you haven't experienced yet. The picture I have chosen is communicating ones love for someone else through them hugging. How can a good photograph engage or capture the viewers attention? A good photograph can capture the viewers attention by going deeper and showing whats behind the image, not what the image is just based on. A photograph can capture the viewers attention by taking a picture of something bright and colourful or by putting an effect that stands out. |
